The former Indian captain founded this Non-Governmental organization (NGO) in 2013, with a vision to drive a change by supporting deprived children as well as highly aged deprived citizens. 

Apart from these, the 36-year-old has also shown his keen concern for uplifting stray animals life. He, alongside his wife Anushka Sharma, is supporting a project named ‘awaz’. Through this, the celebrity couple provides well-planned medical services, shelter, and food to the unowned animals that are often found injured in Mumbai.

Apart from running this program, Virat Kohli Foundation often collaborates with other social ventures in further uplifting the social cause. His organization has organized various events to raise funds. Notably, the NGO has organized various fund-raising football matches that featured various cricketers and celebrities from various fields. 

The first such game was a football fixture that was played in collaboration with Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan’s NGO. In the game, the cricketer led the side ‘All heart FC’ while the other club ‘All star FC’ was led by Abhishek. The high-profile event drew massive media attention and reportedly raised a good amount of funds. 

During the hard times of COVID-19, both Virat and Anushka pledged to donate to M MCares fund. In 2023, the celebrity couple launched a new social initiative named ‘SeVVA’. 

They revealed their new venture through a social media post, which revealed the full form behind the unique name they chose. According to the post, SeVVA stands for “Se (of Self), V (of Virat), V (of Vamika) A (of Anushka). As Seva is always from the self of self.
